Privacy
Last updated: 6 July 2026
In plain words
- CodeDiff has no accounts and does not collect analytics or usage data.
- The app makes network requests only for actions you take. Each one is listed below.
- Everything we hold is described on this page, in full.
What the app sends, and when
- Git operations. Fetch, pull, and push go to the remotes you configured, exactly as git itself would.
- AI reviews. When you start a review, the relevant changes are sent to the AI provider you configured, using your own API key, under that provider's privacy terms. Nothing is sent before you ask.
- Update checks. The app fetches a small version file to see if an update exists. It carries no personal data.
- Trial start. Starting the Pro trial sends a one-time anonymized device identifier so a trial cannot be repeated. It is a one-way hash: it cannot be turned back into anything about you or your machine.
What stays on your machine
Your settings, your repositories, and your review history stay local. AI provider keys are stored in your operating system's secure keychain, and your license is stored locally and verified locally.
Purchases
Payments are handled by our merchant of record, who processes your payment details under their own privacy policy. We receive the name and email you entered at purchase, and use them only to issue and support your license.
